In retaliation to the enforced exiting of Brunswick Art Space from their home of 11 years, I created these signs, to hang over the various thresholds through the space. Reminiscent of the standard 'exit' signs enforced on public spaces, my exist signs are a conversational play on words, on coming and going, and are a reaction to the voluntary eviction of the Brunswick Arts tenants for the lack of adhesion to health and safety codes, such as exit signs. The signs were exhibited in a large, celebratory final exhibition at Brunswick Arts in December 2015.

Each sign had a different word each side, relating and opposing each other. The pairs were:
EXIT / EXIST

COME / DONE

DEPART / PARTY

WELCOME / WE'LL GO

GO ON / GONE

EVICT / EVOLVE
